We stayed at La Tortuga during our honeymoon in Nov. 2004. We had a great time and were very well taken care of by everyone in the hotel and restaurant. Just wanted to say hi and let you know we're wishing we were there with you today (it's super cold here in NY)! We'll be planning another trip someday soon. Until then, hope everyone is well in PDC!

We just want to thank all the staff at La Tortuga again for the way they looked after us during Hurricane Wilma. We were so much better off than all the other tourists who were staying in the big hotels in Cancun. We eventually got back to London a week after the hurricane struck but we miss La Tortuga enormously. Even before the hurricane, everything was perfect from the cleaning of the room to the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. It was devastating to see Mamita's after the hurricane and we really hope it has recovered. Do try the shrimp ceviche there - it's definitely the best!

Dear friends, I just wanted to say thank you once again for the wonderful stay ay La Tortuga October 31-November 7. I almost hate to say this, but Playa del Carmen was in wonderful shape when we arrived and saw many repairs completed during our stay. For us, it was a silver lining because I hate big crowds and we had great experiences at the Mayan ruins, the cenotes, the playa, the Akumal lagoon, and every other place we went in the Mayan Riviera. Our stay was so personable and we didn't run out of things to do during our stay. Sitting at the edge of the Caribbean Sea, eating dinner, drinking beer and margaritas, swimmin, reading, and just meditating on the beauty was so much more enjoyable because there weren't the massive crowds. Friends told me I was taking a risk going to Playa del Carmen so soon after the hurricane. Well, the risk paid off in huge dividends. And of course, our stay was definitely enhanced by Hotel La Tortuga and its wonderful staff who made us feel like a king and queen. Heidi and I thank you for making our first real vacation in 4 years so wonderful. I feel like a new person!!!!

Dear La Tortuga friends, We are back in Holland after a big horror at Merida Airport where we were stuckt for 28 ours with less food and drinks together with Dutch people who were traumatist and sick. I want to say "why did the travel company did not stay with you guys" You were great, you all did not go to your family's but stayed with us and taking care of us during the Biggest hurricane in history. I only can say "Thank you for all you guys did for us" We are planing to come back next year November and will book our stay with you guys at still a great little find "La Tortuga" we could never been saver... "La Tortuga 1 vs. Hurricane Emily 0" Before I make any comments about our stay let me congratulate the staff at Hotel La Tortuga. I live and work in a coastal area in Texas and we have a serious hurricane potential every year. My stay during the hurricane was an eye opener, not the storm but the way the staff assisted us. I heard nothing but horror stories at the airport on the way back from guests at other locations on how they were treated by their hotel or resort. Bernardo and everyone took care of my wife and me. They went above and beyond what I would expect of hotel professionals. I can not say enough about how the entire staff treated us during the crisis. That alone would give the hotel 5 stars on any review. But for those who want to know about the hotel during calmer times I say, stay nowhere else when visiting Playa. The location is wonderful, the rooms are great and again the Staff is made up of dedicated professionals. The took care of all ours needs and desires from transportation to the tours. You went way above and Beyond keeping us informed, setting up our room, providing emergency food supplies and water. Bernardo worked with us hard to get our flight changes, and helped secure our rental car to a safe location. The staff worked very hard to clean the property as soon as the storm abated. Having been around hurricanes in the past I was most impressed with how the La Tortuga staff handled a difficult time with aplomb. We were well informed, well equipped, and prepared due to the professionalism of La Tortuga management and employees. We were able to enjoy three good days and nights before Emily struck. Everyone at La Tortuga was most accommodating and helpful, fielding all of our questions and requests quickly. Tour arrangements, transportation and restaurant suggestions were all provided by this small boutique hotel whose motto should be "we provide the best in customer sevice". The hotel rooms were comfortable, grounds pretty, and the restaurant was much better than we would expect of a hotel restaurant. Great breakfasts and dinners were enjoyed at the Agora. I really love this hotel and will plan to visit again next year (not during hurricane season though). We just returned from our trip late last night. We had to cut our stay at the La Tortuga short because of hurricane Emily. I must say that the hotel staff was awesome at keeping everybody informed of the hurricane and they were also great at making the necessary arrangements to ensure everbodies safety. It was also very calming to see all of the proper planning in effect. The customer services was top notch before and during this hectic time. I really loved staying at the hotel and the people were really nice. We're planning to come back in January or December 2006. We absolutely love this hotel. It is beautifully decorated, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We felt as though we were in an exclusive, private resort. It is amazing. I do recommend however, a few things. While it is raining, there is little to do. Could you provide a service where you can order movies to your room for those times? Also, when the maids clean the rooms, they should leave the doors closed so the mosquitos cannot get into the room. Besides that, we loved it here and would recommend it to everyone we know. ¡Muchas Gracias!

We stayed at your lovely hotel April 24-29 and had a wonderful time. After the high-priced, impersonal resorts full of time-share hawkers it was a delight to be in such a sophisticated, quiet atmosphere. We enjoyed the complimentary full breakfast and the staff were all wonderful, especially a young blond Scandanavian named Sig---. Sorry, can't remember. We'll be back next year!

We stayed at La Tortuga in Feb. 2005 and fell in love with it. Clean rooms, friendly (and accommodating) staff and great location. We had a Jr. Ste. w/rooftop jacuzzi the last night and it was so cool. Very romantic. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation. Special thanks to Henry, Manuel and Jorge. You made us feel very special and we look forward to staying with you again. We enjoyed the daily walk to Mamitas Beach, but thought the staff @ Tucan were friendlier and worth the $4/day to use their chairs and umbrellas. Thanks again!

My wife and I have the luxury of living in a place that also boast a warm climate and blue water. However when it comes to a since of charm and feeling right at home there is no place like La Tortuga. My wife and I truely fell in love again at that little hotel. The staff performed simply perfect, as if they were working because they enjoyed it and not for money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone a thousand times over.
